I'm often asked why I do what I do. I fell in love with a dragon 6 years ago, and I believe that he is the manifestation of my personal desire, which became clear to me after three events of breast cancer, to make a difference. My magical pal captures the innocence of childhood with his sweet, kind and compassionate personality and child-like curiosity. In all of his fun adventures he is a reluctant and humble hero. People of all ages are captivated by this character and of course he has a particular appeal to younger children (4-8 years of age).
Odd as it sounds, Duffy flew through my open kitchen window in 2006. The first story Duffy gave me is titled "Duffy And The Ice Witch" - which has yet to be illustrated and published. For a number of years I just played with the concept - enjoying the fantasy and the escapism.
Late in 2009 I realized that there was more to Duffy than just a playful imaginary friend. Duffy has a bigger purpose and that is to discover how he can use his dragon skills to help us take care of each other and the planet.
In 2009 I launched the first story book - "Duffy The Christmassy Dragon" and two other titles followed. Many more Duffy stories are in the planning - and soon you'll be able to get your own "stuffy Duffy"!
